The Secret Path

The Secret Path

Today, as part of our Social Studies learning about Reconciliation, the class watched Gord Downie's The Secret Path.

The Secret Path is a movie created to tell the story of Chanie Wenjack, a boy who ran away from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School in Kenora, Ontario in 1966.  Through his story, students are learning about residential schools and about the injustice of Canada's Indian Act.
